Rents start to rise as tenants return to London
It's good news for landlords as rents start to rise again. Over the past two weeks we have successfully let properties for over their asking prices.
After the rent drops of last summer, rents have stabilised and we are now seeing increases on figures achieved last year.
Supply massively outweighed demand last summer, and resulted in landlords dropping prices to avoid lengthy void periods. Rents were down by around 15-20% overall.
However over the past 5-6 weeks we have seen an increase in tenant enquires as workers and students return to London. In the past few weeks we have even managed to let properties OVER the asking price.
A lack of rental property on the market suggests this trend may continue throughout the year.
If you're thinking about renting your property then now might be a good time to explore your options.
